Lesser (spot-nosed guenon) is more

Lessor spot nose_3440 IThe Lesser Spot-Nose Guenon is new to the Tulsa Zoo and a welcome addition. These cute guys sport a “Bozo the clown” nose and “Santa Claus” beard making them a truly interesting monkey (SEE, they have a tail!). Unlike many wild animals, the LSNG travel in groups of mixed company. OK, they are all guenon, but different species. Interesting none-the-less.
They communicate in a variety of different and amusing ways. With their tails for one example. Jerking their heads is another. Perhaps they watched A night at the Roxbury and picked it up there? Hear one sneeze? Perhaps they spotted you and are alerting the others.
Deforestation and an illegal bush meat trade have pushed they guys into the endangered list.
